2021

PROJECTS

I created the first version of BEIGE Magazine as a print back in 2019. The original concept of the magazine was based on celebrating the beauty of the South of France, where I grew up. In September 2020, I decided to develop the magazine as my major final project for University, however, by then times had changed completely, and that made it that I went in a totally different direction.

BEIGE IS BORING is an independent fashion, culture and lifestyle digital magazine that addresses current political and social issues through a fashion perspective. Not only does it offer inspirational editorials and articles made by young creatives, it also promotes critical reflection and triggers opinions on various subjects. The colour beige is often thought to be boring, but this magazine certainly isn’t.

I kept the name of ‘BEIGE’ because the colour is often associated with something or someone considered as being mundane or uninteresting. I therefore thought that it would create the right level of satire for an online presence representing these tedious and extremely political times we are living through, and the boredom of lockdown.

In turn, I have had plenty of time to observe my own, as well as other young people’s frustrations, and that has influenced my inspiration and creativity behind the magazine’s concept. BEIGE is a safe space for all young adults to learn, create and explore multiple narratives. It is all about empowering each other and becoming successful as a collective.
